The uses of radioactive tracers in metallurgy are discussed. A method that may be used in attacking a diversity of problems is described. A review of the physical methods in iron metallurgy is presented. The metallography of copper, aluminum, or metals for reactor construction uses with success the same experimental methods. The uses of tracers in the adjoining fields of metallurgy were also proved to be fruitful. Tracers are used in solving corrosion and grinding problems, in the preparation and concentration processes for ores and minerals, and for increasing the accuracy of the determination of trace elements in metals.
