EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION IN THE MARCOULE PLUTONIUM PRODUCTION CENTER (in French)

Journal Article · · Energie Nucl.
OSTI ID:4707613
Equipment decontamination in a nuclear center is an indispensable operation because of the cost and difficulties of replacement. It also helps to decrease the expensive stocking of radioactive materials. Surface decontamination uses both chemical and physical methods. The chemical methods are used at Marcoule. The installations and procedures use are described. Because the work is done in humid atmosphere, the risks of atmospheric contamination are greatly reduced. The operating costs do not exceed 18% of the commercial value of the articles treated. (tr-auth)
