REACTIONS ($gamma$,n) IN C$sup 12$, O$sup 16$ AND Ca$sup 4$$sup 0$ (in French)

Journal Article · · Phys. Letters

The ( gamma ,n) and ( gamma ,np) cross sections and integral cross sections at 15 to 26 Mev are studied for C/sup 12/, O/sup 16/ and Ca/sup 40/ Photoneutron production is found to be weak in comparison with photoproton production. It is also found that a strong T = 0 component in T = 1 excited states may exist, and that such a component favors photoproton production; that the level density in N/sup 15/ is much larger than that in O/sup 15/; and that dipole absorption has a large amplitude beyond the giant resonance.
