A STUDY ON THE RADIATION FROM ELEMENTARY DIPOLES IN A MAGNETO-IONIC MEDIUM

The electromagnetic radiation from electric and magnetic dipole sources in an unbounded gyroelectric plasma medium was studied. Also considered is the radiation from dipole sources in the presence of a grounded gyroelectric plasma slab. The problems are formulated by using the concept of modal analysis originally due to Arbel. Solutions which are valid everywhere can be expressed only in the form of integrals. In both cases, asymptotic expressions for the far- field approximation are obtained by the saddle-point method. 29 references. (auth)
