A general description is given of the 75 Mw(e) sodiumgraphite reactor constructed at Hallam. The star"tup program has begun, and the low-power operation is scheduled for the end of 1982. This first industrial realization of a nuclear power plant using superheated steam represents an important step in the construction of truly economic power plants. (tr-auth)
