EVALUATION AND ASSEMBLY BY VACUUM BRAZING OF THE SUPERHEATER FUEL PLATES FOR THE BOILING REACTOR EXPERIMENT-V
Development of special nondestructive evaluation methods for Borax-V superheat fuei plate quality and special techniques for vacuum brazing these plates into rigid elements is described. The fuel for the superheat region of the reactor is in the form of plates containing a dispersion of ClO₂ in austenitic stainless steel clad with similar material. The nondestructive tests were developed to determine the U²³⁵ distribution, detect surface contamiration, and evaluate core-to-clad bonding. (J.R.D,)
