Title: SECTOR-TYPE MAGNETIC ANALYSER FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF ION RAYS (in Hungarian)

A sector-type analyzer magnet of 40 deg deflection was devised for the investigation of ion sources used in nuclear accelerators; the magnet is of symmetrical arrangement and suitable for determining the compositions of ion beams. With the stray magnetic field in front of the sector boundaries shielded, and ions of 10% energy spread assumed, data of the image slit or image distance were found to be in conformity with the calculations based on the image formation error, the velocity dispersion and the inlet slit date. The analyzer devised is also suitable for an automatic recording of the spectrum. Connected to the lightspot galvanometer (10/sup -9/ amp) of the Faraday cage, the post-recorder (Nachlaufschreiber) will draw the spectrum when the magnetic field is varied continuously.
