Xenon Poisoning Under Different Operating Conditions in Nuclear Reactors; L'AVVELENAMENTO DA XENON NELLE DIFFERENTI CONDIZIONI DI FUNZIONAMENTO DEI REATTORI NUCLEARI

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4701425

ABS>The variation of Xe/sup 135/ concentration following a change in reactor power is studied. The possibility is examined of programming both a power decrease and a complete shutdown to reduce, consistently with the amount of available reactivity, the xenon poisoning effects and also to regulate the power increase after the reactor shutdown, so that the rapidity of xenon burnout, and consequently of reactivity build-up, may not be harmful to the nuclear plant safety.
