GAPLESS SUPERCONDUCTIVITY

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters

An attempt was made to clarify the meaning of energy gap'' in a superconductor containing paramagnetic impurities. Previous experimerts indicated that a metal containing paramagnetic impurities could become superconducting without possessing a well-defined energy gap. This experiment concluded that while magnetic scattering may introduce decaying states into the gap, it need not destroy the peak in the density of states. (C.E.S.)
