Previous studies on the heat capacity of heavy water in the liquid phase at pressures up to 100 kg/cm/sup 2/ and temperatures up to 300 c- C (Atomnaya Energ. 7: 462(1959) No. 5) were extended to the supercritical range of heavy water in its liquid and vapor phases. A closed-circuit, adiabatic calorimeter with a highly precise (0.01 c- C) liquid thermostat was used for the measurements. Three series of experiments were completed: determination of the heat capacity of liquid heavy water at 5 isobaric points, 100, 150, 200, 225, and 250 kg/cm/sup 2/; determination of the same function in the vapor phase at 150, 175, and 200 kg/cm/sup 2/ at temperatures up to 450 c- C; and measurements in the supercritical range of the phase diagram at 225, 240, 250, 280, 275, and 300 kg/cm/sup 2/ at temperatures from 330 to 360 to 450 c- C. The heat capacity values in kcal/ c- C kg are tabulated. The experimental error is estimated at 0.35% for the liquid and the unsaturated vapor and at 1 to 2% near the saturation lines and heat capacity masima at the supercritical isobars. (TTT)
