Laser-induced thermionic emission
An experiment in which the electron emission signal resulting from the interaction of a ruby laser beam with thoriated W was found to be related to thermionic emission from W is described. Theoretical expressions relating the electron emission to the thermionic emission gave good agreement with experimental results.
