Properties and Radiation Behavior of Self-Reading Rod Dosimeter; EIGENSCHAFTEN UND BESTRAHLUNGSVERHALTEN SELBSTABLESBARER STABDOSIMETER

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4694184
By comparison of rod dosimeters of different manufacturers with regard to their charge behavior and seifdischarge, sensitivity to shock, exactness and fluctuations of dose registering, and energy and direction dependence, the Bendix dosimeter proved to be the best of the investigated types for registering quanta radiation. This dosimeter was therefore investigated more closely. The marked energy dependence of other dosimeters was reduced by suitable metal tops. Arrangements for measurement of fast neutrons by the Bendix dosimeter did not show the exactness of quanta doses. No satisfactory dose proportionality was found for them. The dosimeter readings were influenced an expected amount by the structure of the container. (tr-auth)
