INVESTIGATION OF WHOLE-BODY COUNTING AFTER INCORPORATION OF RADIONUCLIDES (in German)

Journal Article · · Strahlentherapie (West Germany)
OSTI ID:4694162
Whole-body counters offer the possibility of precise measurements of deposits of gamma-emitting radionuclides in the human body in a relatively short time. If several radionuclides are present in the body, the different nuclides can be identified by an analysis of the gamma spectrum. Results obtained with a whole-body counter, using a liquid scintillator and a crystal counter (8" NaI Tl) combination with the same lead shield, are reported. With this arrangement measurements in persons with radium deposits and in thorotrast-patients were carried out. (auth)
