RECOVERY OF ACTINIDES FROM AQUEOUS NITRIC ACID SOLUTIONS
Patent

OSTI ID:4693280
A process of recovering actinides is presented. Tetravalent actinides are extracted from rare earths in an aqueous nitric acid solution with a ketone and back-extracted from the ketone into an aqueous medium. The aqueous actinide solution thus obtained, prior to concentration by boiling, is sparged with steam to reduce its ketone to a maximum content of 3 grams per liter. (AEC)
