Decay of Sc/sup 48/, Sc/sup 50/, and Sc/sup 50m/ was studied by gamma and beta scintillation spectrometry. In the decay of 1.83-day Sc/sup 48/, a new 178 450 deg C in a 4 kev gamma was found that establishes a new level at 3518 kev in Ti/sup 48/ and represents 5.7 450 deg C in a 1.0% of the total decay of Sc/sup 48/. A 23-min activity previously assigned to an isomer in Sc/sup 50/ is shown not to belong to this nuclide. Data from searches for a short-lived isomeric state in Sc/sup 50/ reveal a new 0.35 450 deg C in a 0.05 sec activity which is tentatively assigned to Sc/sup 50m/. This state decays mainly via a 258 450 deg C in a 8 kev isomeric transition, probably of M3 These Sc/sup 50/ isomers seem to form a (2/sup +/,5/sup +/) doublet as predicted by empirical coupling rules and theoretical calculations. A value of 1.72 450 deg C in a 0.04 min was measured for the half life of Sc/sup 50g/. Studies of the decay of this state show one beta component with an end-point energy of 3.6 450 deg C in a 0.2 Mev and the following coincident gammas (and relative intensities): 524 450 deg C in a 6 (97 450 deg C in a radiations, together with data from other investigations, establish the following levels in Ti/sup 50/: 1555, 2676, and 3200 kev, the probable spin-parity assignments for these levels being 2/sup +/, 3/ sup -/, and 4/sup +/, respectively. The decay schemes of Sc/sup 48/ and Sc/sup 50m,g /are presented and discussed, and the level structure of Ti/sup 50/ is compared with existing theoretical calculations. (auth)
