CRITICAL FACTORS IN THE INTERPRETATION OF RADIATION EFFECTS ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF STRUCTURAL METALS

Journal Article · · Welding Res. Council Bull. Ser.
OSTI ID:4690333
The effects of fast and slow neutron exposure, neutron energy spectrum, instantaneous neutron flux, temperature, stress, environment, lattice type, alloying elements, metallurgical structure, and test parameters on ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and ductile brittle transition temperature of structural metals are discussed. The metals studied include carbon steels, low alloy steels, stainless steels, Ta, Ni, Zr, and Al alloys. (Rev. Metal Lit., Vol. 20, No. 10)
