A broad resonance ( GAMMA /sub lab/ = 383 kev) was observed around E / sub p/ = 1330 kev in the measurement of excitation function of the Be/sup 9/(p, gamma )B/sup 10/ reaction in the proton energy region from 1200 to 1900 kev. At this level, 7.78 Mev gamma ray ( gamma /sub o/) was predominant (783%) among the capture gamma rays, and its angular distribution was isotropic within the experimental error. Obtained GAMMA /sub gamma / was 14.6 plus or minus 1.5 ev. These results support the assigmment 2/sup -/ to this level, but the strong E1 transition to the ground state should suggest a large admixture of isotopic spin impurity of T = 1 in T = 0 at this level. The branching ratio of decaying gamma rays, the angular distribution and the large isotopic spin admixture are interpreted by the jj-coupling shell model, and the 1330 kev level is identified as a weak coupling s-wave proton resonance analogous to the 330 kev level. On the basis of this identification, other broad levels at E/sub x/ = 7.20, 8.07, the core (Be/sup 9/ or B/sup 9/) excitation of B/sup 10/ nucleus, and J pi and T of these levels are tentatively assigned.
