STUDY OF UPTAKE OF P-32 TO THE GONAD (in Japanese)

Journal Article · · Proc. Japan Conf. Radioisotopes
OSTI ID:4683503
The function of the gonad of both sexes is delicately influenced by slight changes of various conditions. The function of the gonad in various conditions is studied bv investigations of the rate of the uptake of P-32 in the gonad. The uptake of P-32 in ovaries of female virgin albino rats treated with various sex hormones is investigated. The uptake rate in ovaries after a certain time is 1.1 in the case treated with estradiol, 1.7 with progesterone, and 1.5 and 3.3 with glandular and chorionic gonadotropine. The process of the uptake in animals treated with progesterone is examined in detail chronologically. The uptake of P-32 in ovaries of adult female rats irradiated with x rays on the region of the hypophysis-middle brain system is studied. The uptake rate is decreased 7 days after irradiation with 500 r and markedly decreased immediately after irradiation with 1000 r. The rate of the uptake of P-32 in ovaries treated with both irradiation and administration of gonadotropine or of progesterone is higher than that in ovaries treated only with irradiation or with hormones. The uptake of P-32 in the male gonad treated with some anticarcinogenic agents is examined. (T.F.H.)
