The design, development, fabrication, installation, and initial testing of a prepackaged, air-transportable, pressurized water reactor nuclear power plandt, the PM-1, is described. The specific output is 1 Mw(e) and 7 million Btu/ hr of heat. The plant is to be operational by March 1962. The principal efforts were concerned with reactor development work, plant fabrication and assembly, and atsite construction work. Major reactor development work included: zero-power testing and analysis, reactor flow and heat transfer testing and analysis, and analytical power plant extrapolation and interpolation from the reference PM design.
