ON THE PROBLEM OF BETATRON DEPENDENCE ON INJECTION ENERGY (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Tekhn. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4682601
An attempt was made to increase betatron and synchrotron yields at injection energies to 300 kev. An iron-free betatron with homogeneous phase and azimuthal magnetic field not exceeding 0.5% was used in the experiment. The results showed that the capture process does not depend on the method of injection, and the intensity dependence on W (injection energy) is linear to 120 kev and stronger with further energy increase. Up to 280 kev the dependence of W and K (capture coefficient) is very weak, and there is only a slight dependence of the maximum energy on the shape and duration of injection pulses at 0.15 to 2 mu sec.
