Neodymium dibutyl phosphate solubility in dibutyl phosphoric acid as a function of various diluents is reduced according to the following order: carbon tetrachloride > n-hexane> iso, octane> benzene, diethyl ether > formic acid 7 dichloroethane> n-uctyl alcohol> n-butyl alcohol> n-propyl alcohol > pyridine, ethyl alcohol. The competition between neodymium dibutyl phosphate and diluent in capturing dibutyl phosphate molecules determines concentration equilibrium of the dissolved compound. (R.V.J.)
