Zone Refining of Aluminum

The procedure of zone refining Super Purity Al is described. The impurity content was studied by neutron activation and spectrographical means, and the ratio R/sub 293 deg K/R/sub 4.2 deg K/ was measured. The purest material has a resistance ratio of 26,500 in bulk.
