The Air-Sea Gas Exchange experiment ASGASEX was conducted from August 30 until October 1st from the Meetpost Noordwijk (MPN), a research tower in the North Sea at 9 km from the Dutch coast. The objective of ASGASEX was a study of parameters affecting the air-sea exchange of gases, and a comparison of experimental methods to derive the exchange coefficient for CO{sub 2}. A detailed description of the ASGASEX experiment is presented in Oost. The authors` contribution to ASGASEX was a micro-meteorological package to measure the fluxes of CO{sub 2}, momentum, heat and water vapor, and an instrument to measure the size distribution of bubbles just below the sea surface. In this contribution the authors report preliminary results from the CO{sub 2} flux measurements and the bubble measurements. The latter was made as part of a larger study on the influence of bubbles on gas exchange in cooperation with the University of Southampton and the University of Galway.
