A HINDERED E2 GROUND STATE TRANSITION IN Po$sup 20$$sup 7$

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
The half life of the 69-kev first excited state in Po/sup 207/ was determined to be 205 plus or minus 10 ns using a time-to-pulse-height converter to measure alpha-electron delayed coincidences. The 89-kev E2 ground state transition, interpreted as p/sub 1/2/ yields f/sub 3/2/ is retarded by a factor of eight as compared to the corresponding one in Pb/sup 207/. (auth)
