A review of the physical, thermal, atomic, and crystal properties and application of rare earth elements is presented. Also alkaline and sulfate separation of oxides from ores, chemical precipitation and crystallization of oxides to obtain metals and electrolysis (800 C) and casting processes to produce mishmetal ingots are summarized.
