ELECTRONIC ABSORPTION SPECTRA OF URANYL PHOSPHATE AND OXALATE

Journal Article · · J. Mol. Spectry.
The electronic absorption spectra of uranyl phosphate and uranyl oxalate were studied with powder samples of the compounds at liquid-air and liquid- nitrogen temperatures. About 75 bands in the case of the phosphate and 68 bands in the case of oxalate were obtained. The absorption bands of each compound were analyzed as due to three electronic transitions from a common ground state to the different excited states. The wave numbers of the fundamentals obtained from the electronic absorption were correlated with those obtained from fluorescence and infrared absorption. (auth)
