Gas chromatographic determination of lanthanide mixed-ligand complexes 1,1, 1,2,2,6,6,7,7,7-decafluoro-3,5-heptanedione

The fluorinated β-diketone 1,1, 1,2,2,6,6,7,7,7-decafluoro-3,5-heptanedione when used in combination with organic neutral donors such as di-n-butylsulfoxide and tri-n-butylphosphate forms volatile complexes of the lanthanides. The mixed-ligand complexes are prepared by synergistic extraction of aqueous solutions. The complexes can be determined directly by sampling the organic phase of the extraction mixture and subsequent gas chromatographic analysis.
