PLANE ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE DIFFRACTION BY PLASMA CYLINDER (in Russian)

Studies were made of plane electromagnetic wave diffraction by a plasma cylinder in a homogeneous external field parallel to the cylinder axis. The studies were confined to normal incidence with the electric vector polarized along the cylinder axis. On the basis of the universal solution for dieiectric cyiinder diffraction, the problem was reduced to an integral equation resolved by a succession of approximations, considering that the cylinder radius and wave length are considerably larger than the mean Larmor radius of electrons in the plasma.
