The traditional methods and calculation techniques for resonance absorption in nuclear reactors are recalled. The presentation is largely based on Dresner's work. Resonance absorption in heterogeneous medium was treated in a completely different way. Formulas that are frequently used in relation with resonance escape probability in heterogeneous media were obtained. Possible alterations to the nuclear codes of MUFT in the calculations of the resonance escape probability factor are suggested. (auth)
