SCINTILLATION AND PARTICLE DISCRIMINATION PROPERTIES OF CsBr(Tl) AND RbI(Tl) CRYSTALS (in German)

Journal Article · · Nucl. Instr. Methods

The scintillation decay and the pulse-shape discrimination properties of Tl-activated CsBr and RbI crystals are studied in the temperature range from --60 to +250 deg C. The decay depends in a characteristic way on the temperature of the crystal and the type of particle used. It is shown that the differences in shape between gamma and alpha pulses are sufficient to be used for pulse-shape discrimination. (auth)
