DISTURBANCES IN THE TRITIUM CONTENT IN ORGANS AFTER IRRADIATION

Journal Article · · Radiologia Clinica (Switzerland) Published 1965-1974 as Radiol. Clin. Biol. Changed to Diagn. Imag.
OSTI ID:4661257
The whole body irradiation of Swiss mice produced a disturbance in the content of tritium, injected intraperitoneally as tritiated water, in fresh as well in dried organs. The tritium content after irradiation follows a biphasic course that cannot be explained by disturbances in the uptake or by elimination of water only. Moreover there is an indirect radiation effect on the nonirradiated skin of a local irradiated animal. (P.C.H.)
