The historical development of impregnated alloys and the various applicable technical processes are described. Their properties are discussed on the basis of the properties of W- Cu, W-- Ag, W- U, Nb-- U, and Ta-U impregnated alloys. Investigations of Ta-- Cu, Ta-- Ag, Nb-- Cu, and Nb- Ag impregnated alloys are described, and results on density, electric conductivity, hardness, structure, and phase composition are reported on the basis of x-ray studies. Preliminary results are presented for Ta-Ni- Cu and Nb-- Ni-- Cu alloys. (tr- auth)
