MOMENT AREAS AND CENTROIDS OF A 90 CIRCULAR BEAM

The approximate moment areas and centroids for a 90 deg circular beam, loaded in its plane of curvature, are calculated by dividing the curved member into ten straight segments and summing up the moment areas for each segment. A sample problem in the analysis of two-dimensional piping systems is worked out using these centroids and moment areas. (auth)
