A filter support, which holds a rapidly replaceable, remotely controlled fllter with a large filtration area, is patented. The filter may be used for treating fluids under pressure in general, and gases containing radioactive dusts in particular. The support consists of a cylindrical housing for the filter and 2 casings at the ends of the housing, which slide in a sleeve surrounding the housing and can be removed from the sleeve. Hollow rods at one end of each casing slide in a fluid-tight manner inside the inlet and outlet conduits for the fluid to be filtered, or the casings can slide around a hollow rod connected to the conduits. In an alternative design, only one casing is slidable, the other being connected to the sleeve. (M.P.G.)
