The quantitative study of mutual separation of lanthanons by nongradient solvent extraction system was undertaken. As an example, the recovery of pure Pm/ sup 149,151/, activity from irradiated Nd/sub 2/2O/sub 3/ was chosen. The di-(2- ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (HDEHP) was chosen as organic solvent since the separation factor of adjacent lanthanons with HDEHP is higher ( approximates 2.5) than that with TBP ( approximates 1.9). This work can be extended to the preparation of Eu/sup 155/, Tb/sup 161/, Tm/sup 171/, and Lu/sup 177/ from irradiated Sm, Gd, Er, and Yb target in the carrier-free state. (auth)
