Comparison of various numerical solutions to the nonlinear Vlasov equation

Several methods for solving the nonlinear Vlasov equation are reviewed and compared. The numerical solutions of the Vlasov and Poisson set of equations for two physically significant problems are presented and a comparison is made with the results of particle simulations.
