Analysis is made of potential hazards to the shipboard reactor during operation of the NS Savannah as a commercial vessel. Collision, grounding, fire and explosion, rough weather, flooding and sinking, and salvage are considered in detail. It is concluded that Savannah can be operated in any part of the world without constituting a hazard to the population or to the environment. (D.L.C.)
