THERMOLUMINESCENCE OF NEUTRON IRRADIATED ZnS PHOSPHORS

Journal Article · · Ann. Rept. Radiation Center Osaka Prefect.
OSTI ID:4648418
The effects of neutron radiation on the thermoluminescence of cubic ZnS phosphors were investigated. The thermoluminescence intensity was decreased very little in the case of 1.5 x 10/sup 16/ nvt irradiation. It was concluded that no new kind of trap was produced by neutron irradiation as far as shallow traps were concerned. The glow intenisity was decreased as a whole to a value of the order 10/sup -3/ to 10/sup -4/ by neutron irradiation of 6.7 x 10/sup 16/ nvt. Besides the decrease as a whole, the shape of the curve was changed remarkably. (P.C.H.)
