Solvent Extraction Behavior of Inorganic Ions in the Alkylamine-hydrochloric Acid System -Primene JM-T- [10% Primene JM-T

The solvent extraction behavior of about 60 elements was surveyed in the system of 10 vol. % Primene JM-T xylene solution vs. hydrochloric acid, in which the acidity was varied from 1 to 12N. The distribution ratio, K/sub d/, of a particular nuclide was determined by the use of a radioactive tracer. The K/sub d/ values of this Primene JM-T-HCl system were usually below one. Iron, gallium, antimony, and protactinium were extractable above 6N hydrochloric acid, while gold alone could be extracted all over the hydrochloric acidity tested.
