ON TRACK WIDTHS IN CONVECTION CHAMBERS (in Russian)

>The schematic diagram of a controllable photomultiplier tube for use with convection chambers is presented. Alpha particles are emitted in a collimated beam parallel to the bottom of the chamber. The ions travel in the sensitive medium under the influence of the electric field. The distance between the source and the bottom of the chamber varies from 2.5-5.0 cm, and the electric field ranges from 5 to 600 v/cm. The track widths are determined with the aid of a microphotometer. (C.E.S.)
