PRODUCTION OF THE KAPPA MESON IN K$sup -$-p INTERACTIONS

Evidence was given for the existence of an excited state in the K/sub pi / system at approximates 725 Mev from recent work on pi /sup -/ + p interactions. Some theoretical implications of this excited state ( kappa meson) are considered. A systematic analysis of the reaction K/sup -/ + p yields K/sup o/ + pi /sup -/ was undertaken to search for this x meson effect in K/sup - /p interactions. (R.E.U.)
