OFFSITE ECOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF THE DIVISION OF BIOLOGY AND MEDICINE-- TERRESTRIAL AND FRESHWATER
The off-site program of the Environmental Sciences Branch of the Division of Biology and Medicine of the AEC is conducted throughout the U. S. through contracts with universities and colleges. Research programs in terrestrial and freshwater ecology are described. An alphabetical listing, by university or college, of research contracts current in March, 1963 gives summary information on the type of ecological research under investigation. Information is included on objectives, experimental procedures, and publications. Emphasis is placed on the fates and effects of fallout radionuclides in food chains and the effects of radiation on plant and animal communities. An index of participating colleges and unlversities and a list of the principal investigators are included. (C.H.)
