In the investigation of radioactive aerosols, the size distribution of the particles is of significance both for the effects to be tuken into consideration for radiation protection and for the measurement techniques. The radioactive aerosols in the atmosphere were reported. The grain-size distributlons were investigated with the Goetz aerosol spectrometer under various conditions. Natural RaB + C aerosols, which arise through accumulation of Rn decay products, common atmospheric aerosols charged with ThB, and fission product aerosols arising from nuclear test explosions were the particles studied. The reaults were compared with semi-empiric calculations and with data obtained from the literature. (tr-auth)
