A cation exchange membrane was used as a medium of electromigration for the separation of lithium isotopes. After spotting lithium hydroxide on the cation exchange membrane in NH/sub 4/-form, lithium ion was electromigrated for 30 hr under about 3 v/cm. The amounts of lithium in each fraction of the band were determined by a colorimetric method with thorin and their isotopic ratios (Li/sup 7//Li/sup 6/) were determined with a mass-spectrometer Atlas CH-4. It was observed that isotopic natios were changed from 12.30 to 9.34 at the front part of lithium ions band and to 13.10 at the tail. Considering the average velocities of electromigration of the isotopes (v/sub 6/ and v/sub 7/), the ratio of difference (v/sub 6/ -- v/sub 7/) to v/sub 6/ was estimated as 0.008. (auth)
