EXCITATION OF THE SO-CALLED "TWO PHONON" STATE IN Fe$sup 56$, Fe$sup 58$, Ni$sup 62$, AND Ni$sup 64$ BY INELASTIC SCATTERING OF /cap alpha/ PARTICLES AT 44 Mev (in French)
The angular distributions of the alpha particles emitted in the relatively weak excitation of Fe/sup 56/, Fe/sup 58/, Ni/sup 62/, and N i/sup 64/ levels located in the region of the triplet (0/sup +/ 2/sup +/ 4/sup +/) of qu adrupolar vibration of two phonons were measured. The distributions were analyzed by Blair's inelastic scattering model. The levels excited are discussed, and the distributions and excitation cross sections are compared with theoretical values.
