Experiments with gas-puff plasma guns at GIT-4 was carried out to get single specie ion flow with total flux of 10{sup 17} particles. The Micro second Plasma Opening Switch (MPOS) was of coaxial geometry with inner (cathode) and outer (anode) diameters of 102 and 300 mm respectively. Upstream and downstream inductances made up 243 and 328 nH respectively. The stored current reached 1 MA during the front of 1 {mu}s. With output voltage of Marx equal to 480 kV, the voltage on the POS in the switching stage reached 1.8--2 MV. The total energy stored in the ion beam for E{sub i} > 600 keV made up 60 kJ. The MPOS length estimated by activation technique and also by autograph of the ion flow on the cathode reached 60--80 cm. Comparing these experimental results at the current level of 1 MA with previous obtained at the current level of 200 kA the authors can claim, that the respective increase of the plasma density made up 1.5 order. It is worth noting that the MPOS`s impedance decreased from 20 Ohm to 3--4 Ohm.
