Power Generating, Inc. (PGI) has developed and patented a direct-fired gas turbine power system, designed to operate on solid fuels. Different models will generate from 500 Kilowatts to 5 megawatts of electrical power for a variety of industrial and utility applications. The exhaust from the PGI Power System is anticipated to be usable directly as a source of thermal energy or fed into a heat recovery steam generator to produce process steam. System efficiency should be in excess of 70%. This article describes the power system and its future.
