Described here is a hybrid discontinuous finite element-spectral nodal method for slab-geometry one-speed transport problems without spatial truncation error. For the angular approximation the author used a linear discontinuous (LD) expansion for the angular flux inside each of the N elements of a uniform angular grid. This procedure yields the LD{sub N} equations that is solved numerically using the Spectral Green`s Function (SGF) method with the one-node block inversion (NBI) iterative scheme. The SGF method generates numerical solutions for the LD{sub N} equations that are completely free from spatial approximations. Numerical results are given to illustrate the methods accuracy.
