Infrared spectra and structure of acetylene on NaCl(100)

C{sub 2}H{sub 2} and C{sub 2}D{sub 2} infrared spectra on NaCl(100), their isotherms, heats of adsorption, and interaction energies are reported in this paper. The three peaks for this nondegenerate vibration are from static- and correlation-field splittings. These spectra are due to a bilayer structure similar to 1.5 layers of the low-temperature crystalline phase of acetylene. 41 refs., 6 figs., 2 tabs.
