Matrix reactions of SiH{sub 4} and GeH{sub 4} with F{sub 2}. Infrared spectra of several HF product complexes

In this paper, condensation of SiH{sub 4} and GeH{sub 4} with F{sub 2} yields various product complexes. H-F vibrations in these complexes suggest that F is more basic in GeH{sub 3}F than SiH{sub 3}F since Ge is more electropositive than Si. 35 refs., 13 figs., 5 tabs.
